Edventours is an international foundation with a mission to provide world citizens with cross-cultural experiences through its academic, short-term, internship and volunteer programs.

In just 3 weeks (June 28-July 12), a group of 16 Vietnamese high school students (aged 14-16) are coming to Washington on a Business Tech program. These deserving students, who were selected out of hundreds who applied for the opportunity, are interested in learning about the United States and can't wait to discover the Pacific Northwest. They bring with them a rich culture, kindhearted spirit, and a love of sharing traditional food and customs.

Seattle families with or without children, empty nesters, single parents and single persons are invited to host the high school students in their homes for two weeks this summer!

The benefits of hosting international students include:
• A unique cultural experience - it is a special opportunity to share your culture, learn about their culture and get a new son or daughter in the other part of the world.
• Broaden your horizons and experience a different perspective on life. Edventours tries to match students based on shared interests (sports, art, music, tech, etc.) to ensure a fun and enriching experience for the students and the host family.
• Help a student grow by welcoming them into your daily life - they’ll pick up English naturally through conversation and get a true taste of American culture.

What is required of a host?
• Hosts are asked to provide a bed (a room can be shared with a host sibling of the same gender and of a similar age or another student) and meals at home.
• Students arrive with their own spending money and full medical insurance, and host families receive a stipend of $400 to help offset costs.
• The program is packed with exciting weekday activities for the students, but host families are always welcome to join the fun whenever possible!
• You won’t be doing this alone - our wonderful Local Coordinator, a mom of two who has led this program before, is here to support you every step of the way. Plus, a dedicated Vietnamese teacher will be traveling with the group as their chaperone, ensuring the students are well cared for and connected.
