Hula Workshops with Kumu Hinaleimoana Wong-Kalu

Hinaleimoana is a native Hawaiian who is known for her work as a kumu hula, cultural practitioner, and community leader. Kumu Hina was born in the Nu'uanu district of O'ahu. She attended the Kamehameha Schools and the University of Hawai'i where she began her activism.

In this workshop you will learn a selection of hula kahiko that will investigate the mele, its content, context, and the choreography. Kumu Hina will teach a different hula kahiko in each session.
