This mid-career internship program now has opportunities at Amazon.

If you are a parent taking a break in your career to look after your children and are ready to go back to work, Path Forward will provide you with the help you need.

Path Forward is a non-profit organization that partners with companies to create ‘returnships’ for professionals who took a career break for caregiving, including child care, self care, eldercare or care of another loved one.

’Trailing spouses’ who have sacrificed their own careers because of moves required to support their spouse’s job also qualify.



A Path Forward returnship is a paid, temporary 16 weeks contract position with a specific company, which includes career development workshops and support from Path Forward throughout the program.

Returnships are designed exclusively for professional with over 5 years experience who have been out of the paid workforce for over 2 years (does not have to be continuous.)

Each role provides professionals with an opportunity to refresh their skills, gain further experience and transition smoothly back to the workforce.

Path Forward has recently partnered with Amazon’s Operations Finance Division to offer financial analysis roles at their Seattle Headquarters.

If you have a background in finance, data analysis, consulting, or accounting and have been out of the paid workforce for at least two years for caregiving reasons and have five or more years of work experience, this could be the opportunity you are looking for.

Job listings for these opportunities are open for application now through September 2019.

Even if you’re got great experience, you may be lacking confidence in your abilities and unsure of how your skills will translate to today’s workplace.



The Path Forward return to work program addresses these issues by creating an environment where you can redevelop your skills while gaining valuable experience.

The program includes specific professional development workshops with Path Forward, plus attendees will gain a valuable support system with Path Forward and returnees at other companies.

The program has a great track record of success, having worked with over 50 companies so far.

The majority of participants are offered ongoing employment with the company they are placed with, while the rest generally find employment within six months of the end of the program.
