messy play classes are starting in Bellevue on Thursday, 24 January for six weeks. Designed for children aged between 1 and 3 years, they are all about getting messy and exploring the senses.
If you’re not familiar with the concept, messy play is also known as sensory play. It provides experiences that allow children to receive and utilize sensory input.
Messy play is play that incorporates a wide variety of textural interaction and encourages children to learn in their own way and at their own pace. It is fantastic for nurturing creativity and motor development.
By manipulating a variety of materials, children refine their sense of touch, sight, smell, sound and sometimes even taste. The more diverse the textural experiences, the richer their cognitive and language development will be.
Just some of the materials used for messy play include paint, dried pasta, shredded paper, rice and more!
messy play classes will be held at the Jewish Day School of Metropolitan Seattle at 9:30am and will run each Thursday from 24 January for 6 weeks.
The cost is $15 per class or $75 for all 6, and reservations are requested by emailing
[email protected].
Come along and enjoy the messy play with your child! You can read more about these classes at the
